Children's Liturgy of the Word
Children's Liturgy of the Word is a beautiful gift to families.
This ministry is designed for children
3 years of age up to their first communion.
After the introductory rites, children are invited
to gather in the sacristy for the Liturgy of the
Word at the 2nd and 4th Sundays of
the month during the 9:00am Mass at
St. Martin of Tours.
During this time the children listen to the explanation of the readings in a way that is relatable, creative and fun.

They listen to scripture written more appropriate to their level of understanding and discuss how it applies to their lives accompanied by a video, song or craft led by Notre Dame Academy teacher Alexia Zippier: alexarae21@gmail.com

The children return to the main assembly for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

VOLUNTEERS
We are always looking for adult facilitators/leaders and also for
youth assistants/leaders; especially those looking for service hours.

Volunteers are provided with copies of the readings and discussion questions a week in advance. The commitment of time for this regarding ministry can be very flexible. Share your Love of Jesus through His Holy Word by becoming part of the Children's Liturgy of the Word Ministry.

All volunteers will receive a brief training session. The Diocese of Buffalo also requires all volunteers over the age of 18 to attend Virtus training as well as submit a background check. The Virtus training takes place at various dates/times/church locations within the year.
